ISFiT presents: Oakland Rain
The Norwegian folk-pop duo Oakland Rain will perform during ISFiT 2017.
Oakland Rain is a duo consisting of two 20-year-old redheaded twins from Norway. Similar in looks and voices, they harmonize like only sisters can. During the past two years, the band has established itself as one of the newcomers in Norway. Their debut- EP was released in March 2015, and the band gained a lot of attention with critics calling their music and performances «sensational».
Their sound moves within the folk- pop genre, with influences from the 50-60s. The sisters have very similar thoughts (not surprisingly) around expressing themselves musically. As young adults in a fast-changing society, Oakland Rain is a band inspired by writing about things that involve more than themselves. They believe in music as a way to express feelings and opinions. The duo has a heart for nature in it`s pure beauty, and they want to remind their peers that trying to be perfect by following pressure rarely turns out well. Additionally, social engagement is an important inspiration to their music.
