I Was Before

With music inspired by afro-american popular music, especially hip-hop, I Was Before were founded in 2015. The music is danceable with a ton of groove, at the same time as it has a layer of thoughtfullness about it. All members studies jazz at Norway’s Academy of Music, and are setting there mark on the music by using their own backgrounds and preferences. The result is a distinctive sound of something familiar, which is at the same time something new.

In the beginning of 2016 ‘I Was Before’ released two singles and was named ‘Ukas Urørt’ during the sping 2016. Other then that the band has played at the Serendip festival, Kongsberg Jazz Festival and Novafest, and they can’t wait to play in Trondheim for the first time.

Now a days they’re working on an new EP.
