Studentersamfundet’s Internal Theater invite you to a musical theatre at Knaus in October. It’s the first snowday of the winter, and Tom comes back to his childhood home in Loddefjord in Bergen. His girlfriend is with him, and right then and there they decide to get married. Tom’s parents and grandparents are invited to the wedding, which occurs already on the next day. BA describes the play as a “tragicomic family drama from contemporary times where the lies and all things unsaid threatens to split a family”.
“Sånne som oss” is a kind of musical written by Frode Grytten and is based on the texts and the tex univers of John Olav Nilsen. Frode Grytten is a Norwegian journalist and writer from Odda, who writes most of his works in New Norwegian. He’s especially known for his poems and short stories, but has also had great success in other genres. This playwritght debut is no exeption. John Olav Nilsen is known from the Bergen’s band John Olav Nilsen og Gjengen, who’s first album came in 2009. It was a critically acclaimed album and won Spellemannsprisen in the Rock genre. All together the band released three albums, which were all well received.
The play was first set up at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen in 2014 to rave reviews. It became so popular it was set up once more in September 2015.
