Kulde
Jeg har lyst til å drepe noen. Jeg tror det er et jævla kick. Det beste kicket du kan få. Det er sikkert bedre enn å knulle.
This play is in Norwegian.
In the woods we find the three pals Keith, Anders and Ismael, where they're barbecuing sausages, drinking beer and celebrating that they've finished school. They have extreme opinions. They are waiting for someone to come, for something to happen. Keith dreams of obtaining the power in Norway, and then sending all the foreigners out of the country. He doesn't give a damn about where they go, he otherwise would have slain them. They want war. They want to clean the breed. Anders is Keith's biggest fan and finds his meanings in his opinions. Ishmael is Muslim, but that's okay as long as he hangs with Keith and Anders and no one else.
After a while a classmate walks past. Kalle is adopted from Korea and he believes in democracy and in the welfare state, so he would prefer to take a long detour around the group of guys. He is not like them. He is a poop in the Norwegian milk. He is offered a beer and the discussion begins. Three against one.
Lars Norén is one of Scandinavia's most well known playwrights. He has written a lot about heavy subjects. An example of this is neo-Nazism in Kulde, written in 2002. In this version the references are from Norway in 2015, but the intensity in Norén's language is still prominent.
Welcome to the forest where the politically correct are struck down and the extreme shouts.
NB: There are birch and spruce on stage
