President Election for ISFiT 2023

Who will be the President of ISFiT23? And which theme do you want for the festival? Come along and make your voice heard at the ISFiT 2023 President election on the 16th of March in Storsalen at the Student Society and digitally.

ISFiT has established itself in Trondheim and around the world as a forum for the discussion of socio-political themes of global significance. At the election, each candidate will present their theme for ISFiT 2023. The festival itself brings together 450 students from over 150 countries for eleven days of workshops, debates, cultural events and the student peace prize.

Behind these 450 students from all over the world, there are another 500 student volunteers based here in Trondheim. For these volunteers, the months and years of work put into building the festival are just as important as the festival itself. Each festival is built from the ground up, giving its volunteers the opportunity for change and innovation. The President is responsible for leading this growth.

What do you want from ISFiT 2023? What theme should we focus on? How do we best host a physical festival after having a digital festival in 2021?

The election will take place in Storsalen and all Members are allowed to vote. Candidates will introduce themselves at the podium with an opening speech of three minutes before being asked questions from the audience. Each candidate will then hold a three minute closing speech. The voting will be carried out digitally with the winning candidate requiring at least 50% of the votes. No prior knowledge or experience is required to be a President, and the new President will receive extensive training from the previous board.
