ISFiT: Eirik Aas
Eirik Aas established himself first as a rapper in the group Hester V75, but released his debut album - “Med lyset slukket” - as a debut artist in 2020. The album was well received by his audience and critics alike, and Bergens Tidene rolled the dice and gave the album a 6!
This last year he has been writing the record “Verden eller ingenting.” While the last album is intended for intimate, smaller concerts, this record is meant for festivals and social gatherings. With catchy hooks and ambitious production, Eirik Aas is ready to establish himself as an artist renowned beyond his hometown Bergen.
In his songs, he reflects upon the challenges of growing up, establishing himself, going against expectations, and love. Eirik Aas does not brag about a life he does not live, and would much rather use his music to talk about his own experiences. Initially, he believed this to be a weakness, but it turned out to be one of his greatest strengths. This is exactly what he needed to stand out in the growing Norwegian rap music scene; writing songs the average Norwegian youth can relate to.
