ISFiT: Verdensrommet

After releasing their sophomore album in 2020, Verdensrommet presents their first fully digital concert with band! The album “Allting tar slutt” finds the balance between their debut “Verdensrommet” and “Problem” - a place between jazz-influenced indie and hiphop/RnB. With this solid record, the duo has once again reinvented their artistic expression, with a variety of instrumentation and production techniques that they have discovered throughout their career. Either way, the songs sound familiar, staying true to their sound; Høvsets characteristic voice and the ethereal melodies are accompanied by electronic beats, which transforms the dancefloor of a club just as much as your living room.

Verdensrommet consists of the duo Andreas Høvset and Vetle Junker who formed the band when they were seventeen years old, after having made music together since kindergarten. Taking an active part in the Bergen music scene for years, they decided to slip a CD into the pocket of Matias Tellez, who they know could record and produce, as well as give their career a boost, in 2012. There was no name or email address on the CD, but they met him coincidentally at a music festival, where they exchanged information. Eventually they recorded their first songs “Sidelengs” and “Nytt” with Tellez in Bergen. The songs were well received, and led to concerts at Slottsfjell and Hovefestivalen. Their self-produced debut record “Verdensrommet” in 2015 was received to similar acclaim. Since then, both Høvset and Junker have produced music together and separately.
