Announcement of the Student Peace Prize
Thursday 15th of October, the world will have a new peace prize laureate when the Secretariat of the Student Peace Prize, NSO and SAIH welcome you to the announcement of the Student Peace Prize’s 12th laureate.
We regret to inform that due to the contagion situation, we have decided that we will not have any audience in Storsalen during tomorrow's announcement of the Student Peace Prize. We apologize to everyone who had looked forward to the event and hope that you will follow the streaming on samfundet.no/live. The streaming event will have the same program as was planned, and we are looking forward to announcing this year's winner!
Thursday 15th of October, the world will have a new peace prize laureate when the Student Peace Prize, NSO and SAIH welcome you to the announcement of the Student Peace Prize’s 12th laureate. The announcement will take place at Studentersamfundet in Trondheim, but you can also join us at our livestream at samfundet.no/live and Samfundet’s YouTube-channel.
Since 1999, the Student Peace Prize has been awarded, on behalf of all Norwegian students, to a student or student organisation working to promote peace, democracy and human rights. The earlier student laureates have raised their voice, demonstrated, established organisations, and fought for better conditions in their home countries. The next laureate is no exception, and we are looking forward to putting the spotlight on yet another important case that deserves our attention.
Programme:
- Performance
- Welcome by the leader of the Secretariat of the Student Peace Prize, Thomas Gjedebo
- The announcement by leader of the Peace Committee, Sunniva Folgen Høiskar
- Performance
The announcement is to be followed by a panel discussion about peace prize, human rights, democracy and this year’s laureate, directed by Styrets debattkomité. The panel will consist of, between another, the Vice-Chair of the Nobel Committee, Henrik Syse.
