Samfundsmøte: Lykkejegerne?
The last ten years, the number of immigrants and norwegians born to immigrants have tripled. A high level of social welfare and high wages has appealed to immigrants from all over the world. Will the norwegian welfare state be a victim of fortune hunters?
Today, there are 720 000 immigrants in Norway, almost 400 000 more than ten years ago. Those born in Norway to immigrant parents tend to earn more than their parents, but at the same time, the proportion charged with crimes are on average higher among those with an immigrant background than the rest of the population - despite a decrease since the year 2000.
What does the future of Norway look like? In what ways has immigration shaped Norway’s culture and economy? This, and more will be discussed further at this Samfundsmøte!
