Docufilm: For Sama (2019)
A mother’s story of love and survival during war in syria.
For Sama is a harrowing documentary that explores the life of a young mother amidst the chaos of civil war. Through Waad Al-Kateab's camera, we witness heartbreaking scenes from the Syrian city of Aleppo, where war and human suffering dominate daily life. This is a personal and intimate portrait of a mother’s fight to protect her daughter while also struggling for freedom and justice. Waad Al-Kateab combines powerful visual moments with a raw and honest narrative that places the viewer at the heart of the conflict.
