Orangekake 23:59
Orangekake, whose real name is Amina, is a Swedish-Somali performer who has lived in Norway for the past seven years.
In 2023, she quit her job as a kindergarten teacher to focus on music and work on her first EP project, Ceeb, which means "shame". It became a collection of five self-composed, personal songs about her life. She quickly started playing around Oslo, including at Krøsset through Scope Creative Lab, which had selected 10 artists. She was also recommended as an artist to watch by Dagsavisen and Urørt in 2023 at Oslo Music Festival. The songs from her first release were also listed on radio channels such as P3 and student radio stations. At the same time, she got gigs all the way to the Netherlands, in Rotterdam.
2024 was a year full of highlights. She spent the year at LIMPI in Lillehammer, where she developed as a songwriter and artist under the guidance of some of the industry's best producers and songwriters. At the same time, she played at several renowned showcase festivals, such as Future Echoes in Sweden and Vill Vill Vest in Norway, where she impressed audiences with her distinctive style and stage presence. She also performed a memorable concert at Melahuset in Oslo, a venue known for highlighting new voices and cultural expressions.
