It’s a Kafka high… You feel like a bug
The stoic and troubled exterminator Bill Lee and his wife Joan become addicted to Bill's insecticide. This leads them down a dark path that ends with insect men, talking typewriters, and an escape to a constantly mutating, generic Mediterranean city. Loosely based on the book of the same name by William S. Burroughs and featuring music by Howard Shore, the film depicts madness, drug addiction, isolation, and insects.
