ISFiT Presents: Invisible strings: Unmasking social norms
Invisible strings guide us every day, shaping how we act, think, and connect with others. These social norms subtly reinforce stereotypes, uphold inequalities, and control how we perceive each other, often without us realizing it.
In this debate, The Invisible String, Saera Khan will have thought-provoking talk on how subtle cues, body language, and microaggressions affect our daily lives and reinforce social hierarchies.
Following the conversation, audience members will be invited to discuss these themes over a shared meal, exploring ways to identify and understand the invisible strings that shape our behaviors. By gaining insight into these forces, we can reclaim control over them—no longer allowing them to pull us into predefined roles, but instead making intentional choices about how we interact with and influence the world around us.
