Kaja Gunnufsen // International Women's Day

With a dazzling combination of humor, honesty, and heart, Kaja Gunnufsen has made a name for herself as one of Norway's most distinctive pop voices. For a decade, her sharp take on everyday life and relationships has resonated far beyond urban stages. On International Women's Day, she returns to Samfundet with new music and a soundscape that blends playful pop with profound reflections. The audience can expect laughter, nostalgia, and musical surprises. This will be an evening where Gunnufsen's honest storytelling once again hits right at the heart.

With a unique and whimsical take on both her own life and the world around her, Kaja Gunnufsen has been one of the most distinctive artists on the Norwegian pop scene over the past decade. Right from the start, it was clear that Gunnufsen has a unique voice that has been relatable to an entire generation, far beyond Grünerløkka's neighborhood borders - which led to a number of awards and nominations, including Spellemann
and P3 Gold. She filled concert venues all over the country and could be found at the biggest festivals.

Her debut album from 2014, “Faen Kaja”, still stands as a monument. Where it started with all the challenges and expectations of being young and single, the theme has now shifted quite drastically. Life has happened. The contrast between being young and single, and being a married mother of two has led to several extra layers in Gunnufsen's lyrical universe. The pop sound she's always had is just as exceptional as ever, and this time, together with her regular collaborator Kenneth Ishak, she's moved into a somewhat different sound, the most playful sound we've heard so far.

It's been a few years since Gunnufsen's second album, “Ikke tenk på det”, was released - over six years in fact. Since then, she has given us the pop gem “Unik”, before going completely silent. The time that has passed since then is reflected in the universe she now invites us back into on her third album. All you really need to do is listen through from start to finish and you'll get answers to all your questions - and more. This already happens on the album's first track, “Jazzing with Kaja”. Kaja Gunnufsens has a unique ability to capture her surroundings in a way that is as banal and naive as it is intelligent and subtle. Her observations and melodic flair have been sorely missed, and with this new album we finally have a golden-edged addition to an already solid catalog.
