NJR (Nederlandsk JaazRevolusjon)

NJR stands for the Dutch Jazz Revolution, and this group will blow you away with fierce tunes from the modern jazz scene in Amsterdam. With a love for artists like Reinier Baas and Estafest, NJR simply wants to bring more Dutch jazz into the spotlight here in Norway. A selection of favorite tracks is taken from the albums Mostly Improvised Instrumental Indie Music and Bayachrimae, encompassing a variety of styles – from prog riffs and surf rock to whimsical ballads. Flying Dutchmen and an electrifying atmosphere are guaranteed!

Børge Brustad - Violin
Frode Wærness Ludvigsen - Guitar
Adriana Døsvik - Double Bass
Inga Mei Steinbru - Drums

Sakte, Fallende

The newly formed, Bergen-based band has big musical ambitions to unite music across many decades. Their sound blends ambient and free improvisation with structured riff-based compositions. These elements merge to create a balanced and dynamic soundscape that highlights both the individual talents of the instrumentalists and the ensemble’s remarkable interplay. Or, as they put it themselves: “We are Slowly, falling. Fixed, loose, and eclectic. Music inspired by everything from ambient and harsh noise to country and bossa.”

DYKDYPP

DYKDYPP is a young, playful, and energetic quintet emerging from the jazz programs at NTNU in Trondheim and the Grieg Academy in Bergen. Drawing from a wide range of inspirations, the musicians explore everything from groovy riffs to free improvisation and lyrical chorales. An open and inviting landscape arises within DYKDYPP's own sparkling universe, one that will make you dance—and maybe cry.

The band's unique sound is forged by a distinctive lineup: guitarist Arin Myklebost Gran, with his uncompromising tone and soaring lines; saxophonist Åsne Fossmark, with her tasteful solos and lyrical phrasing; cellist Selma Edwards Granly, with one foot in delicate, beautiful melodies and the other in raw power chords; bassist Johannes Lykkås, whose solid groove and abrupt creative shifts ground the music; and Linus Solvang, who dynamically ties it all together behind the drum set.

Since their formation in spring 2022, DYKDYPP has already performed several concerts in Trondheim and appeared at jazz festivals such as Jazzfest, Oslo Jazz Talent, Moldejazz, Dråpefestivalen, and Jammin' Summer Session - Jazz à Juan (Antibes, France) in summer 2023.
