Stop Making Sense (1984) Special Screening with Sonic Music Film Festival
The Student Society Film Club, in collaboration with the Sonic Music Film Festival, presents: Stop Making Sense.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of Talking Heads' iconic concert film Stop Making Sense. The film was recorded over four nights at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood and offers a glimpse into the creative, absurd, energetic, polyrhythmic, and multi-melodic world that David Byrne, Tina Weymouth, Chris Frantz, and Jerry Harrison crafted as a band. Byrne’s many forms and expressions in the film are iconic in the truest sense and deserve to be experienced on the big screen. We dare to call this the greatest concert film ever!

The Sonic Music Film Festival is a film festival held at Cinemateket from October 24th to 27th. For four days, we will screen music documentaries you likely won’t see anywhere else!
