Across the Universe" is a love story set against the backdrop of the turbulent 1960s, woven through years marked by anti-war protests, the spiritual escapades of the era, and its distinctive rock 'n roll culture. From the dockyards of Liverpool to the creative psychedelia of New York’s Greenwich Village, from the riot-filled streets of Detroit to the deadly fields of Vietnam, the film captures a time of radical change.

The two young lovers, Jude and Lucy, along with a group of friends and musicians, find solace in the alternative peace movement. But powerful forces beyond their control pull Jude and Lucy apart, and against all odds, they must find their way back to each other and love.
