Surfing for self-assertion
The Norwegian film Monstertorsdag was made by the same group that was behind the film Mongoland three years earlier. The setting has moved a few kilometers further south, from the city of Stavanger to the beaches of Jæren, where the clumsy Even falls in love with the wife of his newlywed friend and takes up surfing in an attempt to be noticed. Monstertorsdag is a funny film about surfing, love, self-discovery, and courage in the beautiful and weather-beaten surroundings of the Jæren coast.
