John Olav Nilsen & Nordsjøen - For sant til å være godt (15 years)

In 2009, John Olav Nilsen and his band broke through with their debut album For sant til å være godt. Dagbladet and VG rolled a 5 on the dice. Aftenposten, Dagsavisen, Natt & Dag and P3 rolled 6, and with a Spellemann award and a gold record, it was undoubtedly one of the most important albums of the year. That was 15 years ago, and John Olav Nilsen has gathered together a new group.

Nilsen's lyrics and songs such as “Diamanter og kirsebær”, “Hull i himmelen”, “Valiumvalsen”, “Bensinbarn” and “Nesten som eg lever” will forever remain classics in Norwegian music history. When John Olav Nilsen & Nordsjøen go on tour this spring, it will be to honor Gjengen and For sant til å være godt, but also to play other songs - both from the albums Nordsjøen, Det store i det små and I liv og arbeid.

In addition to John Olav, John Olav Nilsen and Nordsjøen consists of former Gjengen member Einar Vaagenes (guitar), as well as Mikael Kanstad (synth), Eirik Marinius Sandvik (guitar), Glenn Endre Bertelsen (drums) and Pablo Tellez (bass), and musically they are in the genre of street pop, or even resistance pop.
