Henrik Felipe // Knaus på Klubben 21:59
A northerner in a southern world, Henrik Felipe has always stood out. Hailing from the pristine isolation of the far North of Norway, he inhabits a sonic world unlike any other. Forging together elements of rap, pop and indie, he combines an enthralling voice, candid lyrics and twisted, unforgettable melodies. With heartfelt storytelling and hard beats, his sound perfectly details the anxiety of modern life as well as the trials and tribulations of modern youth.
A love life is never simple. Through his songs, Henrik Felipe candidly explores his own fluctuating experiences of love, detailing a journey through failed relationships, fleeting passions and forbidden love between friends. Whilst we’ve all heard the usual inane break-up and falling-in-love songs, Henrik Felipe bucks the trend, with his songs detailing the oft-complex and multifaceted emotions surrounding different relationships.
Henrik Felipe’s sound is nuanced and perfectly balanced between pop and urban music, with influences as wide-ranging as The Weeknd and King Krule, to BROCKHAMPTON and Anderson .Paak. For every perfect, light, contemporary pop-song (‘LATE WITH YOU’) there’s an aggressive urban monolith (‘FOR NOW’) - each song having their own emotions that are as eclectic as his influences.
Most importantly though, is that Henrik Felipe wants you to have fun listening to his music. “Whilst I want people to connect to the songs in a deeper way, I also want people to be able to dance. All the music I listen to are conscious yet hard and I want that to be the same with my music. You can cry to it, or dance to it, or chill to it if you want. Music should be about fun at the end of the day.”
Having already won over critics and fans alike in becoming NRK’s Årets Urørt for 2020, Henrik Felipe is set to reach an even higher status this year. Counting luminaries such as Dagny and Adam Ezzari as fans and with numerous singles, 2 EPs and a summer tour scheduled this year for Norway’s most exciting new act, 2021 promises to be the year of Henrik Felipe. Eclectic, energising and thoroughly electrifying, he is the one act that can’t be missed. In the words of NRK’s Urørt Final’s Jury, Henrik Felipe “has a unique character with a clear expression. This year’s Urørt has created his own genre and can continue to evolve indefinitely … (he) represents something entirely new.” We couldn’t have said it better ourselves.

“‘BACKYARD’ was very atmospheric. He has an incredibly beautiful and pleasant voice. This is something you can watch live, but also sit and listen to at home without getting tired … Based on the things I have seen online, he also has a really nice, holistic visual profile and he gets extra points for that from me.” - Dagny, Artist, NRK Urørtfinalen Jury
‘SCUTI’
“He adeptly combines elements of indie-pop with a little rap and the odd trap beat thrown in for good measure … His vocal fits the confluence of confidence and insecurity, an aspect of modern life which impacts on all youngsters these days.” - Nordic Music Review
“A dark and melancholy sound, set against hard beats and a soft vocal that makes the song interesting and captivating from the first moment. (‘SCUTI’) is a strong debut, showing Felipe's quality as a songwriter.” - Radio Revolt
“Combining Felipe's lush, indie-leaning vocals with the thumping production of long-term collaborator Marius Elfstedt, we're met with an enthralling piece of art that seeps with attitude. ‘FOR NOW’
"Exciting and effortlessly characterful!” - NRK P3 Urørt
“The music is difficult to place in one genre, because Henrik Felipe mixes rap and R&B with pop and indie, and he does it well … I love the melancholy expression combined with the searing vocals.” - NRK P3 Urørt
