ISFiT: Shikoswe
Shikoswe is a 26 year old alternative pop artist based out of Bergen. She released her first single «I wanna be right» in 2016, followed by her self-released EP «The Hour of The Body.» In August of 2019, a week after she performed at Øya Festivalen for the second time, she released her debut «Back in the Tall Grass» to prais both nationally and internationally. Simultaneously, she has established herself as a solid liveartist with or without a backing band.
Shikoswe’s music contains melodies that both surprise and hook the listeners, which seems familiar as well as new to them. This is the pinnacle of Shikoswe’s sound. The lyrics seem direct and personal about heartbreak, apathy, and restlessness, combined with a refreshing take on life. Currently Shikoswe is writing music at Poesy Studio at Bergen Kjøtt, and if everything goes as planned, she will release another album in 2021.
