ISFiT: Ash Koosha
Ash Koosha is an Iranian-born electronic musician. With his latest album, I AKA I, he has taken his music even further than before, by exploring his own synaesthesia (the ability to ‘see’ sound). He treats sound “like a physical matter [...]”, the result of which is stunning.
Growing up in Iran, music was hard to come by and Ash has taken countless of risks to keep his love for music alive. His remarkable story includes hidden concerts, being imprisoned for several weeks, gigs being raided by commandos rappelling down from helicopters and losing coworkers in a shooting. Koosha is now based in London, in musical hiding. He’s focusing completely on his music, where he brings in all of his experiences.
The new album, he says, “is about transformations in psychology and technological advancements — the result is always the same humans in the end.”
We are so happy to welcome Ash Koosha to ISFiT! This will definitely be a concert to remember.
