ISFiT: Home, sweet home // Antikvariatet
ISFiT presents “Home, sweet home”- a literary event where Helga Flatland and other authors will try to shed light on the physical and emotional conditions that makes us feel at home, and make us feel like we belong somewhere in a globalized world. The event will be held at Antikvariatet.
In a world where globalization is on the rise and where people are frequently migrating between countries and continents, the questions about a sense of belonging, and a sense of “home, sweet home”, are becoming increasingly important issues. A feeling of being homesick, and wanting to find a place that one can call their (new) home, is the reality for a large amount of people across the world, no matter their individual situation or origin. During our literary event “Home, sweet home” we will try to shed light on the physical and emotional conditions that makes us feel at home, and make us feel like we belong somewhere.
The event will be a conversation between Helga Flatland and several other authors. Helga Flatland debuted in 2010 with the book Bli hvis du kan. Reis hvis du må , and has since established herself as one of Norway’s most prominent authors. She has won multiple prestigious prices, like the Tarjei Vesaas debutant prize and the Youth Critics prize. She has gained a large group of followers and a massive amount of praise for the way she writes about feelings of belonging, sorrow and disruption.
Events at the Student Society can be adapted for visitors with movement and hearing impairment. See here for more information.
