ISFiT Presents: The Student Peace Prize (Stream)
Hvem vinner?
The Student Peace Prize, The Norwegian Students’ and Academics’ International Assistance Fund (SAIH), and The National union of Students in Norway (NSO) welcomes you to the announcement of the 11th peace prize laureate!
The Prize is awarded every second year to a student, or student organisation who has contributed to peace, democracy or human rights, and this year we are celebrating our 20th anniversary.
19 years has past since the first prize was awarded to students in Timor-Leste for their non-violent struggle against the indonesian occupation. Since then, students have been engaged in the fight for everything from democracy and peace in Myanmar, to the inclusion of youth and women in the rebuilding and peace processes in Libya. The earlier student laureates have raised their voice, demonstrated, established organisations, and fought for better conditions in their home countries. They have been devoted activist despite threats and resistance. In many cases other groups or governments attempt to silence students.. The Student Peace Prize laureates are role models for students all over the world, showing us again and again that students can make a difference!
