In the northern end of the hall you will find Samfundet's hidden gem. Biblioteket holds more than three thousand books and one of the largest public cartoons collections.
History
The history of Biblioteket dates back to 1914, then as a small collection of books taken care of by Studentersamfundet's archivist. Both the interest and the possibility of loans were small, which perhaps was because the books were locked up behind a solid mesh grid - rabbit cages in the reading room
in the old Circus. Because of donations from members and publishers the books were bound and the collection grew. For a long time it was planned to furnish a separate library in a planned 3rd floor of the square block in our building, but due to lack of money it was dropped. In 1933 [Klubbstyret](klubbstyret) was formed and the library moved into their new premises in the former janitor's closet .
