U.S. Presidential Election 2024 - Who will win?
Historical Background and International Consequences of a Trump or Harris Victory in the 2024 U.S. Election
After President Biden withdrew as a candidate, the campaign seems to have taken on a new dynamic. But has it really? The stances remain firm, and as of today (September 19), none of the candidates have a decisive advantage.
The presentation offers a historical analysis of both candidates' backgrounds and then proceeds to evaluate what will happen once a winner is declared. What will the new president do? This is then examined in an international perspective to understand the global implications of their victory.
The lecture is given by Tore T. Petersen, a professor of history at NTNU, specializing in American political history and great power politics.
This presentation will be in Norwegian!
