ISFiT: Undercover Refugee

ISFiT welcomes you to an intimate theatre experience at Klubben. “Undercover Refugee” is based on the director and writer Karen’s real journey as a documentary maker following refugees in 2015 from Lesvos beach towards Europe. The audience follows Karen on her journey through Europe and meet the artist Tammam who has been imprisoned two times in Syria, and the history of professor Hadiana who is 8 months pregnant and used to work at the university in Damascus before the war broke out. Karen gets to follow them through Europe on one condition: Do not be in their way. By the first border, Macedonia, Karen is taken by the police for crossing the border illegally. This is only the first step through Europe.

The play brings you a funny and heartfelt story about following Syrian refugees from Greece and through Europe. It reveals refreshing stories from the refugee trail, police, volunteers and the refugees, far from the image often presented by mainstream media.
